A Word for Today

God led me to share a word from the book of Ruth last night on Sought out Generation Prayerline. We find out that after "Boaz had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he lay down at the far end of the pile of grain and went to sleep. Then Ruth came quietly, uncovered his feet, and lay down. Around midnight Boaz suddenly woke up and turned over. He was surprised to find a woman lying at his feet! “Who are you?” he asked. “I am your servant Ruth,” she replied. “Spread the corner of your covering over me, for you are my family redeemer.” “The Lord bless you, my daughter!” Boaz exclaimed. “You are showing even more family loyalty now than you did before, for you have not gone after a younger man, whether rich or poor.”
-Ruth‬ ‭3:7-10‬

Boaz was a mature (older) man who was focused on maintaining and growing what was his portion. He went about his business, took care of those he was responsible for, was a man of integrity and righteous before the eyes of God.

He was not looking for a blessing when his blessing found him. Rather he was resting from the labor that was his allotment.
When we take our eyes of our need and fix our eyes on God and run in the lane that He called us to, there is nothing that we will lack.
The Bible says, Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? -Mathew 6:25-27
He has come through every other time and He will come through every next time. Let us run without tiring. Let us run without getting distracted by the little rocks lying around.

Then I came across this post from Shyju Mathew-  If you are running to Jesus when you don’t have problems then you will be found walking with Jesus when you have a problem. When God has the freedom to take anything from your hand then you will have the access to take from His heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus more than the problems. Hearing "faithful servant" is more important than "powerful servant.

True Leadership

As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.
-C. S. Lewis

A humble leader shows respect by listening to and learning from others.
-Boyd

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves

Nori (seeweed) Dressing

Nori (Seaweed) Vinaigrette

  • 3/4 C rice wine vinegar
  • 2 T sesame oil
  • 2 sheets nori, toasted
  • 1/2 T sea salt
  • 1 T orange zest

Toast nori on lowest setting in the oven for a few minutes. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn, but you're waiting for the sheets to turn slightly brown and crisp. Break into smaller pieces and pulverize in a mortar and pestle. Add all ingredients to a Cuisinart blender and pulse to combine. Give it a good shake and serve over roasted veggies, use as a salmon marinade (SO GOOD) or toss into greens with cucumber. Store in the fridge.

Prayer for Work

Father, as I enter this work place,
I bring your presence with me.
I speak your peace, your grace, your mercy,
And your perfect order in this office.
I acknowledge your power over all that will be spoken, thought, decided
and done within these walls.
Lord, I thank you for the gifts you blessed me with
I commit to using them responsibly in your honor.
Give me a fresh supply of strength to do my job.
Anoint my projects, ideas and energy, so that even my smallest
accomplishment may bring you glory.
Lord, when I am confused, guide me.
When I am weary, energize me.
When I am burnt out, infuse me with the light of the Holy Spirit.
May the work that I do and the way I do it bring faith, joy and
a smile to all that I come in contact with today.
And Lord, when I leave this place, give me traveling mercy.
Bless my family and home to be in order as I left it.
Lord, I thank you for everything you have done,
everything you are doing and everything you are going to do.
In the name of Jesus I pray, with so much love and thanksgiving.
Amen!

New Lesson

I learned something I never knew before from Jane Wanjiru (Swiss) in the past few weeks. She told me how she prays for her employer regularly...that he would succeed, have favor, do well, etc. That she never talks negative or participates in conversations that says anything bad about him. This opened my eyes to a new revelation. Another thing she introduced me to is doing reminders...to set up alarms to meditate on Gods promises, blessings, prayer etc. daily. Jane blessed my life!
