God led me to share a word from the book of Ruth last night on Sought out Generation Prayerline. We find out that after "Boaz had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he lay down at the far end of the pile of grain and went to sleep. Then Ruth came quietly, uncovered his feet, and lay down. Around midnight Boaz suddenly woke up and turned over. He was surprised to find a woman lying at his feet! “Who are you?” he asked. “I am your servant Ruth,” she replied. “Spread the corner of your covering over me, for you are my family redeemer.” “The Lord bless you, my daughter!” Boaz exclaimed. “You are showing even more family loyalty now than you did before, for you have not gone after a younger man, whether rich or poor.”
-Ruth 3:7-10
Boaz was a mature (older) man who was focused on maintaining and growing what was his portion. He went about his business, took care of those he was responsible for, was a man of integrity and righteous before the eyes of God.
He was not looking for a blessing when his blessing found him. Rather he was resting from the labor that was his allotment.
When we take our eyes of our need and fix our eyes on God and run in the lane that He called us to, there is nothing that we will lack.
The Bible says, Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? -Mathew 6:25-27
He has come through every other time and He will come through every next time. Let us run without tiring. Let us run without getting distracted by the little rocks lying around.
Then I came across this post from Shyju Mathew- If you are running to Jesus when you don’t have problems then you will be found walking with Jesus when you have a problem. When God has the freedom to take anything from your hand then you will have the access to take from His heart. Keep your eyes on Jesus more than the problems. Hearing "faithful servant" is more important than "powerful servant.
Soli Deo Gloria
